Every piece is altered. Here is how that works.

There is no size chart on this website, and that is deliberate.

There is no size to choose and no chart to read from, because a label would suggest a precision that this kind of clothing does not work on. Every piece that leaves the studio is cut and altered to the person wearing it — the blouse taken in at the back, the lehenga length set to your heel, the sleeve adjusted so it sits where you want it to sit. That is also why each piece is quoted individually rather than priced on a page: what it costs follows what it is made to do.

What we need from you

When you message us about a piece, we will ask for a short set of measurements. For a lehenga set that is usually bust, waist, hip, blouse length, and the length from your shoulder to the floor in the heels you plan to wear. For a kurta or a dress it is fewer. If you have a garment that already fits you well, measuring that is easier than measuring yourself.

How long it takes

Alterations add time. For occasion wear we ask for as much notice as you can give — the pieces in Laleh in particular are the longest to make and the most often adjusted. If you are dressing for your own wedding, start the conversation earlier than feels necessary.

What alterations do not cover

We do not offer refunds or exchanges. Alteration is how we make a piece right for you, and it is offered on every garment — but it happens before the piece is finished, not after you have decided against it. If you are unsure about a piece, ask us before you order rather than after.
